Oct 16, 2024

The suspects are believed to be between the ages of 12 and 14.

Halton police are investigating after a group of youths used pepper spray to rob another youth on Oct. 13.

Halton police said a group of youths used a can of pepper spray to steal a hoodie from another youth in Burlington on Sunday, Oct. 14.

At around 4 p.m., the victim was on foot in the area of Maple Avenue and Hammond Street when a group of three youths approached him and demanded his hoodie, said Const. Ryan Anderson, Halton Regional Police Service media officer.

It’s alleged the suspects showed the victim they had a can of pepper spray to get him to comply.

The victim handed over the hoodie, at which point the suspects left the area.

The pepper spray was not actually used, so no one was injured during this incident.

No detailed suspect descriptions are available, but police said the youths are believed to be between the ages of 12 and 14.
