From the outside, you could say it’s been a rough couple of years for the graphic tee. Online Ceramics—the label responsible for much of the late 2010s graphic tee boom—broke up the band, and “quiet luxury,” a category notably devoid of graphics, ate up more and more of fashion’s cultural atmosphere. Couple that with the death of merch, and you’d be forgiven for assuming that long-sleeve graphic tees had taken a hit, too.

Except the opposite has happened. Recently, the long-sleeved graphic tee has been adopted wholeheartedly by the industry’s leading designers—from Our Legacy to Magliano and Willy Chavarria—all of whom made sure to include a graphic long-sleeved tee in their recent collections, even when it was often the sole use of graphics in their entire line.

When you think about it, is it any wonder? The long-sleeved T-shirt has always endured, primarily because it’s incredibly pleasant to wear. As easy to throw on as a regular T-shirt, but with added warmth and often snug ribbing around the wrist, there’s nothing quite like it on days where it’s too warm for a jacket but too nippy for a tee. Add a sick graphic to that equation—one that can also run all the way up and down those extended sleeves—and the question becomes why we don’t all have one in our weekly rotation.

Lucky you, I’m here to help with that. Below, 20 favorites from the current crop.

Palmes

Nordstrom

A literal smash, from one of today’s leading tennis-meets-lifestyle brands.

Willy Chavarria

Willy Chavarria

One truly generous thing about graphic tees? They can transmit positive affirmations to the world around you, across both sleeve and chest.

Blue Blue Japan

Mr Porter

That can’t-look-away gradient circle graphic? It’s handmade, employing traditional Japanese dying techniques over a slubby cotton you won’t be able to keep your hands off.

AYR

AYR

There’s Waldo! That is, if Waldo appreciated a Rugby-heavy fabric weight, casual collar width, and 100% combed-cotton coziness.

Colin Meredith

Colin Meredith

Colin Meredith earned his stripes at Arc’teryx, Noah, and JJJJound. Today, he’s doing his own small-batch (for now) thing—that includes this future grail, featuring an abstract scan of seaweed and kelp.

Noah

Mr Porter

Throw a little memento mori into your tee rotation.

A24

A24

And you may find yourself, in a beautiful tee, with beautiful long sleeves. And you may ask yourself, “Well, how did I get here?”

Randy's Garments

Huckberry

It’s a tiny graphic, but a good one: an industrious little guy rushing over to a paint job, sewed onto a pocket that will conveniently hold your keys and Airpods case as you rush over to the deli.

Magliano

Magliano

Magliano lightly freaks everything it touches. Case in point: A severely dropped shoulder seam, and broken heart over your own (hopefully somewhat healed) one.

Story Mfg.

SSENSE

For most ink used, this Story mfg. piece takes the cake. But none of it’s gone to waste: each time you wear it, you’ll find a new detail from artist Will Gaynor to love.

Our Legacy

SSENSE

When I said that some of the best designers are leaving just one or two long-sleeved graphic tees in their otherwise muted collections, Stockholm’s Our Legacy was one I had in mind. Now, anyone for some dark Swedish humor?

Adidas

Adidas

A faithful recreation from an era when the Red Devils were actually firing.

Gramicci

Gramicci

Stare at that purply wash for just ten seconds and tell me you don’t need it in your life.

Beams Plus

Mr Porter

An exemplar spin on the classic striped long-sleeve, proving not all graphics have to be loud.

Acne Studios

SSENSE

From the emblazoned year to the soft, semi-translucent organic hemp-blend cotton, everything about this screams Nineties vintage find. Except in this case, you can buy it in exactly your size.

Only NY

Only NY

Will earn you irony-laden head nods as you all wait on the platform for the actual MTA to function.

Sky High Farm

SSENSE

Play the other kind of football? Rep Sky High Farm, where profits all go towards fighting food insecurity in the Hudson Valley.

Mister Green

Mister Green

Made in Los Angeles from soft, superior ringspun cotton, no pick on this list is having more fun across its total real estate.

Stussy

Stussy

A little Turtle from Entourage, a little Gen Z—a very sweet spot to occupy. I’d call it a future classic, but really, this classic Stüssy design already is one.

Maison Kitsune

SSENSE

Everybody sing: He wore blueeeeeee velvet.
